10 things to do in Berry

1) Silos Winery

Book yourself a wine tasting at the award-winning Silos Estate and Wileys Creek wines. The estate works supports the local community through multiple charity efforts and carbon-neutral approach to their business, and is also home to many friendly alpacas!

2) Hungry Monkey Cafe

After the success of The Hungry Monkey Kiama and its title of ‘Best Business on the entire South Coast’, owners Jack Alexander and Taylor Hudson chose to expand in 2019 and open a second cafe in our gorgeous town. The Hungry Monkey Berry can be found at 23 Alfred Street and is famous for their tasty burgers that use locally sourced ingredients! The shop is also open for breakfast and dinner.

3) Stroll through Town

Queen Street, the heart of Berry, is the best place to learn about the town’s history. Visit the Berry Historic Museum, browse for antiques and collectables in one of Berry’s heritage buildings or try an arts and crafts workshop at This Old House Studio. There is also a couple of historic pubs and other essential services to help make your stay in Berry as enjoyable as possible.

4) Visit Jervis Bay

Jervis Bay’s famous white-sand beaches and clear turquoise waters are amongst the safest and most beautiful in the world. Coastal, marine and hinterland National Parks offer fantastic bushwalking, cycling tracks, Indigenous culture, camping spots, cliff-top lookouts and maritime heritage. A must-see spot on the South Coast of NSW!

5) Drawing Room Rocks

Drawing Room Rocks is a natural rock feature near Berry on the edge of the Illawarra escarpment, offering extensive views over Kangaroo Valley and Berry. Allow an hour or so to take in the scenery and the amazing views!

6) Berry Markets

The Berry Markets are open on the first Sunday of each month, and has approximately 200 stalls selling handmade / hand-produced products, arts and crafts, locally grown vegetables and produce, collectables, books, plants, leather goods, clothing and many other interesting stalls to browse. The Markets are held just up the road from Berry Glamping at the Showgrounds on Albany Street.

There is also a weekly Farmers Market on Thursday's that are packed with fresh local produce, ready-made meals, flowers, breads, cheeses and more.

7) The Treat Factory

The Treat Factory is one of the biggest gourmet food producers on the South Coast of New South Wales. Established in the historic Central Creamery, the Treat Factory produces hundreds of flavours of jams and sauces from family recipes spanning over 60 years. On site, they handcraft a massive selection of Belgian Chocolate and gourmet confectionery - they have all your old favourites and new unique creations.

8) Milkwood Bakery

Milkwood Bakery was established in 2012 and is located at 109 Queen Street in the heart of Berry, next door to the post office. Check out their range full of tasty organic sourdough breads is on offer, and a mouthwatering and ever-changing array of cakes, pastries and other savouries. They also offer takeaway coffees, tea, hot chocolates and freshly made juices. We love their pies especially!

9) Berry Donut Van

For 55 years, The Famous Berry Donut Van is known for freshness and quality in their delicious cinnamon donuts. The Van once travelled around Australia for one year, and then decided that Berry was to become its home. It has become a go-to spot for Instagram foodies and can be found on the main strip of Queen Street, just a short walk from our property!

10) Enjoy a campfire!

Here at Berry Glamping, you are equipped with everything you need to set up a campfire as the sun begins to set on your busy day exploring Berry. Cosy up underneath the stars and relax with a glass of red wine or a hot chocolate with marshmallows!
